The Army Air Forces War Adjustment Course was established in 1944 at several locations in the U.S., one of which was Harvard Business School. The HBS program involved eight weeks of training in the business of contract terminations, cutbacks, and property disposal necessitated by changes in Army Air Forces tactical requirements. Francis Edward Abbey was born August, 31, 1918, in Barre, Vermont, son of Herbert Lewis and Mary (Silva) Abbey. After graduating from Spaulding High School in Barre, Vermont, he developed a career in the Army Air Forces. He appears in some of the photographs as a tech sergeant. He later moved to Orlando, Florida and died in Bushnell, Florida on March 16, 1991, leaving his wife Beatrice Abbey, two daughters, two sons and a sister all in Florida.
